My name is Paul Thomson. I’m 27, from the UK and am a freelance travel writer, web-developer and professional house-sitter.

I am currently travelling around the Balkans taking part in volunteer opportunities on farms and local projects, something I enjoy very much. When I am not otherwise enjoying myself I write content for my travel website (www.livefreedietravelling.com), take part in house-sitting assignments or otherwise build and develop websites.

I’m well travelled, hard working, get along with everyone and very reliable. I have had a wide variety of jobs in the past, all of which have been beneficial to me in one way or another and all of which have helped me develop a wide range of skills.

I have done volunteer work in Australia, USA, Greece and Albania.

On my latest assignment at Kentavros Farm, Argalasti, south of Volos I was responsible for looking after the horses, chickens/rabbits, maintaining a huge allotment, helping to build a stone wall, leading horses on childrens riding, general driving duties, cooking on occasion for the family, weeding, moving hay bales, putting up fences, general handyman work and building their new website (www.kentavros-farm.com).

Whilst in Australia, I helped out at a wildlife conservation park where I helped erect a steel fence to keep the animals contained, look after various reptiles, snakes and kangaroos, and do general maintenance work.

Outside of work I have many hobbies, I like to keep fit through playing team squash, golf, badminton, snowboarding, surfing and long-boarding. I used to be a fanatic gym goer but have not had regular time to go recently. I am currently learning how to play the guitar, love listening to music to unwind and enjoy camping, camp-craft and anything in the outdoors.

Another passion of mine is cooking, I can’t remember the last time I had fast food or a microwave meal! I love to cook, to challenge myself with different dishes and generally cook good food.

I believe good food is best accompanied with good friends and good conversation and over the years I have become accustomed to cooking for large groups of people and enjoy the cooking aspect almost as much as I do with eating!
